Today was hard. Really hard. It began with Elliott waking up bawling from a nightmare in which he put his bunny (dream-bunny, not a real one) into a backpack but it escaped and ran away upstairs and he could not get it. It was the saddest thing ever. I”m not sure if it was the dream or if it was left over from yesterday or if it’s just that he’s four and four year olds are a little bit evil, but he spent the morning screaming and being ornery and argumentative and shrieky and hitty. So that was fun.
Lessons for Margie, on the other hand, went splendidly (between the screams and hits, that is).
She did:
~More SOTW work – mapwork, second Anansi story in it
~Review of Living Math lesson 2 b/c it goes along with this chapter in SOTW.
~Lesson 2 of Singapore Math
~A few pages of math
~2 spelling pages
~Copywork which she memorized all on her own
~Helped me make a dinner from the SOTW activity book which was, IMO, delicious:
By the time she was done it was lunch time and after that we left for PE. She played soccer and enjoyed herself a lot. The class is pretty big this year and she has a lot of friends in it – that’s nice. Also it means I have a lot of friends to sit with. LOL
Finally made it to the library afterwords which wore me down to my very last reserves. First I was too stupid to find any of the books I was looking for – thank Goddess for librarians! – then the kids started acting up.
At home they watched some Reading Rainbow (R.I.P. *sniff*) and then read library books and played Mancala.
Bedtime routine, stories, then sleep.
