Thursday

~Today we met Summer and her sister for Gelato for a belated birthday treat for Margie. We met in Coronado and walked down to the beach for a little while until the grownups got fed up by the sand (there is always so much of that at the beach). Would you believe I took the camera, but FORGOT the stinkin’ memory card? Pft.
~On the way there, I pointed out some landmarks for Margie – the Silver Strand, Point Loma – and we talked about land shapes like peninsulas. Back at home M and I looked at Google Earth to see everything from a satellite so she was able to see where we had been and where things were in relation to us. We also zoomed in on Point Loma and looked at the lighthouse and graveyard. Then we poked around a bit in Antarctica, Alaska, and Hawaii.
~At home M colored in a PETA coloring book I got for free. I explained to her the parts that were true (facts about how elephants and other animals live in the wild) and the facts that were maybe more propaganda (ideas about how trainers are cruel – chances are some are and some are not).
~Kids played alphabet games on a DVD.
~Kids played with Playmobil.
~M and I made little beeswax figures (The God and Goddess) for our Beltane Altar for tomorrow.
