We’re having a really annoying ant invasion lately. This morning I accidently knocked one of the suckers off the wall into the web of a daddy long-legs. I called M over and together we watched as the spider pulled the ant under the shelf with her (him?) and brought it up to her mouth. We discussed how spiders are very important in keeping the insect population controlled. I’m sure we would have watched longer but then M pointed out a small daddy-long-legs-shaped lump in the paint on the closet door and I could no longer keep my arachnophobia in check. I’m sorry, but painted spiders are creepy. I am going to pretend that lump in the paint isn’t there.

My four-year-old had a pretty significant language delay and has been in programs since he was 18 months old to keep an eye on it. He's gaining in leaps and bounds, but we keep our eyes on him, even though he is not currently in speech. He knows all the letters and sounds and is beginning to read. He knows all his numbers up to 20 or so and all his colors and shapes - including octagon! He loves puzzles, books and his train set. They Might be Giants is his favorite band.Crowders Elsewhere
